About Us
The Black Watch Association Pipe Band was formed in 1968 mainly from ex-servicemen of the 1st and 6th Battalions the Black Watch. Todays bandsmen
come from a variety of backgrounds.
In addition to supporting The Black Watch Association (Stoke-on-Trent) Midlands Branch at its various functions throughout the year, the band also
plays at events ranging from fetes and carnivals to special musical events.
The band was particularly pleased to take part in the recent Pipefest (in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care) held in Edinburgh on the 7th August 2010, when over 4,000 bandsmen marched down the Royal Mile and into Holyrood Park.
Earlier in the year, the band was delighted to lead the Annual Veteran's Parade through Stoke-on-Trent in June 2010. A highlight in 2009 was when the band to played at the 60th Anniversary Commemoration of the end of The Berlin Airlift held at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas in September.
